The history of the Rustic Restaurant

The Rustic or "Ace's" as it is know, was built in 1956 by Ace Ruel. It was built on what was known as the old Gould mansion. The Restaurant itself was built according to the designs of Ace, and attached to the original carriage house of the mansion. The carriage house has since been remodeled into living quarters for the owners. The Restaurants beginnings were humble with a meat and potatoes menu, where families could come and relax and enjoy good food at reasonable prices. In 1988, the Rustic was sold to Mark & Helen Ruel, the third son of Ace, and from that time Mark & his wife, Helen, have been keeping the ideals that Ace had intended: meat and potatoes, family dining at reasonable prices. Family owned since 1956.
